The Executive Master of Business Administration (Chinese) (EMBA (Chinese)) programme organized an annual retreat event in Hilton Hotel at Shekou, Shenzhen from 11th to 12th September.

The EMBA management and administration faculty and student representatives attended the event. The retreat reviewed the student activities and management strategies of 2014/2015 and discussed new teaching methods and recommendations for the new academic year.

Prof Houmin Yan, Dean of the College, and Prof Wenyu Dou, Programme Director of EMBA (Chinese) and Associate Dean of the College, thanked the faculty and administrative colleagues’ hard work over the past year. “The success of the University and its programmes are based on the University motto derived from the Latin term Officium et Civitas 敬業樂群,” they said. Prof Yan and Prof Dou hoped that the faculty can continue to carry forward this spirit and excel in their scope of work.

The student representatives, Yi Zhang and Bin Zhou, both from Spring Cohort 2015, were invited to share their feedback on the past curriculums and make recommendations for the new academic year. They hope to analyse start-up stories of small and medium-sized enterprises as well as successful cases of multinational corporations. “We chose EMBA because we want to better define ‘management’. We are discovering the many facets of ‘management’ from our professors. The experience is an extension to our years in the work field,” the students commented.
