AC students showcase achievements in internship programme
The Department of Accountancy hosted the Thank You Reception cum Prize Presentation Ceremony for the departmental internship programme on 16th March. The event aimed to showcase the students' achievements in internship, to recognise students' excellence performance as well as to express gratitude to the company partners.
The event conveyed a theme message of "I GROW Through What I Go Through INTERNSHIP" by sharing student interns’ experiences in the forms of videos, storybooks, cards and other art presentations.
In her opening remarks, Dr Yuyan Guan, Associate Head of the Department of Accountancy, said that the internship programme provided a good opportunity for students to discover the real business needs in the industry and to prepare them to become future professionals through practical trainings.
"We would like to express the department’s gratitude to all the company partners for your professional guidance given to the students. The internship programme would never succeed without your support," said Dr Guan.
Mr David Yip, Senior Teaching Fellow, presented the “Outstanding Intern Awards” to students for their exceptional commitment and performance during their internship. They were given remarkable comments in the evaluation conducted by the placement company and the Department.

Anson Lo said, “This internship programme enables me to better see my strengths and weaknesses. The experience really helps to develop my practical skills and reinforce my career choice.”
“Thanks for the opportunities provided by the company which let me have a first taste in auditing and work with people from different countries. The instructions and guidance from managers and seniors are helpful and make me become more mature now,” said Yama Hui.

About the AC Internship Programme
The Department of Accountancy is committed to providing its students with the education and experience to make the most of university education and achieve success in their professional careers. The well-established Internship Programme, which include opportunities in Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai, aim to immerse undergraduate students in a professional setting for a period of typically 1-4 months in the Fall, Spring or Summer semester. Participating students will be enrolled in a credit-bearing course "AC 4383 - AC Professional Internship and Professional Attachment" and be required to carry out audit, tax and related professional services offered by their respective employers. The Programme require students to undertake pre-internship training, post-internship sharing and submission of reflective journals. Firm visits by our staff-in-charge as well as employer evaluation and feedback will be included as part of programme requirements.
