Mr Yiu observed that American firms tended to be more rigid and to abide by the rules and regulations when making business decisions, while Chinese appeared to be more flexible and placed high importance on the work relationship. Mr Yiu suggested students should be equipped with better understanding on the cultural differences between two places, so that business communication could be done effectively.

Mr Yiu also shared the challenges he encountered in the global financial crisis in 2008, and how he finally overcame the difficult situation. He ended the session by encouraging students to be optimistic and not to give up when enduring adversities.
