Year one BBA students apply innovative ideas in Business Simulation Competition
The Business Simulation Competition which organised by The 4th Executive Committee of Business College and Division Society under the City University of Hong Kong Students' Union, and sponsored by the College of Buseinss, was successfully held on 5th April. The competiton aimed to encourage stuednts to apply their business knowledge and creative ideas to solving real-life business problems. 45 year one students from the College participated in the event.
Elaine Kong Yi-ling, Internal Vice President of the Executive Committee, told about the event, “Fellow students were able to put their ideas into a real business in this comptition. They had to consider areas such as cost effectiveness, management plans, pricing and marketing strategies, and moral values, etc. when testing their business plans.”
“It is happy to see they enjoyed very much in the event. We do hope that they have learnt something new and useful,” says Elaine.
The competing teams were required to run a simulated fashion and retail business in limited time and resources, and to achieve good performace. Prizes were awarded to the three teams which generated the best results in their business. The winning teams were:

Dr Andrew Chan, Director of First Year Teaching and Learning and Associate Professor of the Department of Management, presented prizes to the winners. He showed his appreciations to the student society in organising the competiton and bringing meaningful expereinces to fellow students in his closing remarks.
