The immersive experience extended into Barcelona’s most iconic landmarks, blending history with modern insights. At the Port of Barcelona, participants explored a dynamic case of transformation and global trade. A visit to Raventós Codorníu Winery showcased how heritage can harmonize with contemporary strategy, while the awe-inspiring Sagrada Família offered leadership lessons drawn from a century-long vision. These curated visits served as powerful metaphors for leadership, resilience, and innovation.

One of the most inspiring highlights of the study tour was the “FCB Methodology” session, led by Mr Juanjo Carricondo, a former FC Barcelona player. He shared how the legendary football club nurtures its players—not only by developing technical skills but by instilling values of teamwork, resilience, and strategic thinking. His insights revealed how FC Barcelona’s approach to building a winning team mirrors the principles of effective leadership in business: trust, adaptability, and a shared vision. This session sparked meaningful reflection among participants, reinforcing the idea that great organisations, like great teams, thrive on culture, collaboration, and purpose.

The participating students found the experience highly fruitful and shared positive feedback. Mr Allen Huang, (EMBA(Chinese) 2023 Fall cohort) shared, “The most impactful way to learn is through true experiential education—immersing yourself in study while exploring the world. Travelling offers firsthand insights into Europe’s social and business landscapes, sparking meaningful reflection on how our own enterprises can evolve and embrace change.” Similarly, Mr Yuanxing Guo (EMBA (Chinese) 2025 Spring cohort) praised the programme as “exceptionally well-designed, balancing half-day academic sessions with half-day cultural and historical exploration. The curriculum is thoughtfully structured—from global economic management and market trends to AI, strategic innovation, and organisational transformation. It’s engaging yet relaxed, enriched with case studies and local insights, making the entire experience truly outstanding.”
