Mr Kenny Koo is the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited. He is also a member of the company’s sustainability committee, and a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors, the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, the Hong Kong Management Association and the Employers’ Federation of Hong Kong. Mr Koo has joined the ICT Services Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and also sits on the advisory committees of the City University of Hong Kong’s College of Business and Hong Kong Baptist University’s School of Business. He is a member of the Discipline Advisory Board (Business Administration) of the Vocational Training Council and serves as mentor for The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the College of Business of the City University of Hong Kong.
Mr Koo has more than 28 years of experience in the telecoms industry and has assumed leadership roles in many aspects of the business.
He spearheaded pioneering mobile projects for the company with world-leading tech giants such as Apple, Facebook, WhatsApp, Microsoft and Google. Mr Koo is instrumental in driving new business strategies and collaborating with world-class service providers to bring in new technology as the company is developing AI, blockchain, cloud computing, big data, edge computing, IoT solutions and 5G tech.
Mr Koo drives Hong Kong’s 5G and smart city development. He has led his teams to enter Web 3.0 and the Metaverse to expand new revenue streams and establish an ecosystem for a new digital Internet economy.
