Ms Teresa Yang is Vice Chairman of Esquel Group, a knowledge-based innovation company that continuously pushes for positive change in the textile and apparel business, expanding into new territory to evolve with the industry and its customers.
Ms Yang is responsible for Esquel Group’s strategic planning and serves as Chairman of the Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel. She actively participates in the development of Hong Kong’s textile and clothing industry in her current capacities at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, including Industrial Advisory Committee of the Research Institute for Intelligent Wearable System, Advisory Committee of School of Fashion and Textiles, as well as the Advisory Committee of the CR-PolyU Joint Research Institute for Carbon Neutral New Materials. She is also a member of the Clothing Industry Training Authority.
In 2022, Ms Yang was appointed as a Justice of the Peace. She is also concerned with the promotion of education and is one of the founders of the Y.L. Yang Foundation, a non-profit foundation dedicated to improving educational opportunities for children. She was a member of Committee on Professional Development of Teachers and Principals under the Education Bureau in Hong Kong from 2013 to 2019.
Ms Yang has been a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) Hong Kong Chapter since 2006 and served as the Chair of YPO Gold Hong Kong Chapter from 2016 to 2017. She joined the YPO Gold North Asia Regional Chapter as a learning officer and was selected as the North Asia regional honoree for the 2020 YPO Global Impact Award.
Ms Yang has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Hawaii and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUMBA). Currently, she serves as the Vice-Chairperson of the Advisory Board of CUMBA.
