Alumni › Alumni Conference CityUHK College of Business Alumni Conference and Dinner 2025 Speakers Professor Fred Sheu Chun Fat National Technology Officer Microsoft Hong Kong As National Technology Officer at Microsoft Hong Kong, Professor Fred Sheu supports policy decision and delivers technologically relevant solutions into Hong Kong market. Fred’s main objectives are to align IT value propositions to public policies in such areas as healthcare, education, the environment, and local social and economic development; and to promote a digital agenda in top policy areas, including innovation, AI, security and privacy, technology neutrality, accessibility, and interoperability. Prior to Microsoft, Fred worked with Hewlett Packard (HP) Enterprise where he was the General Manager of Software for HPE Hong Kong. Fred is an active veteran in Hong Kong ICT industry, he serves in councils of Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS), itSMF Hong Kong Chapter and the Hong Kong Information Technology Federation (HKITF). Other public services roles that Professor Fred Sheu is currently serving include Member of Innovation and Technology Training Board (ITBB) of VTC and Convener of its IT sub-committee, Member of OGCIO’s Advisory Committee of the “IT Innovation Lab in Schools” program, Vice Chairman of Innovation, Data and Communication Committee of Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, and Member of sub-group on Talent Development of HKSAR Government’s Digital Economy Development Committee. Fred graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Computer Science (Hon) degree. Dr Benny Luk Former CEO Greater China BGC Group of Companies Dr Benny Luk engaged over 40 years of his career life in money broking business. He managed the Asia Pacific region including India and Bahrain of Tullett Liberty from 2000 to 2005. Taking the opportunity of China’s reform of the financial market, like any other financial centres, China requires an efficient money broking function. Benny established China’s first money broking representative office and JV operational office in Shanghai in 1994 and 2005 respectively for Tullett. After Benny joined ICAP as the CEO, North Asia, he set up the second JV operational office in China and the partner is CFETS (中國外匯交易中心) in 2007 and was subsequently appointed as Vice President of the JV. In 2005, Benny established the first foreign wholly-owned money broking firm in South Korea. He retired from the financial field since July 2023. Benny has been appointed Adjunct Professor from 2019 to 2022; and a Member of Departmental Advisory Committee of the Department of Economic and Finance of City University of Hong Kong since 2019. Benny is currently a Part-time Lecturer of the Department of Management, Lingnan University. He is the Chair of Professional Membership Committee; and the Convenor of Disciplinary Sub-committee of the Treasury Market Association, Hong Kong, (TMA) and he has been serving TMA for almost 20 years. Mr Calvin Wu CEO Shing Hing Plastic Manufacturing Limited Mr Calvin Wu is the CEO of Shing Hing Plastic Manufacturing Ltd., a Hong Kong-based company established in 1995, specializing in designing and producing PVC animal figures. Under his leadership, the company transitioned its focus to eco-friendly educational toys and launched its brand, Wenno. Embracing Industry 4.0, Calvin introduced digitalized management systems to enhance factory efficiency and cost control, ensuring competitiveness in an evolving market. He also applied 3D printing technology for product design and small-batch production, driving innovation within the company. Calvin holds an Executive MBA from City University of Hong Kong and serves as President of the Hong Kong 3D Printing Association. Renowned for his expertise in branding, smart manufacturing, and technological applications, he is committed to advancing Hong Kong’s manufacturing sector through sustainable innovation. Ms Jesse Yau Ms Jesse Yau President and CEO Thousand Million Jewelry Manufacturing Limited As the President and Chief Executive Officer of Thousand Million Jewelry Manufacturing Limited, Ms Jesse Yau leads a distinguished luxury jewelry manufacturer founded in Hong Kong. They specialize in ODM and OEM services that cater to the global market, with a pronounced emphasis on the United States. Jesse oversees operations and development while implementing the company’s strategic initiatives. She articulates the organization’s mission, vision, and values to drive growth and ensure success. Her professional journey in the jewelry industry has been fueled by a profound passion for craftsmanship and innovation. Jesse holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from City University Hong Kong (2023), where she honed her strategic leadership skills that have been instrumental in advancing my company’s objectives. She is privileged to serve as the Chairlady of the EMBA Association currently, where she endeavors to empower fellow alumni and foster collaboration among business leaders. In 2024, Jesse honored with the GBA Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur award, highlighting my dedication to excellence and leadership within the business community. Ir Dr David Ng Ir Dr David Ng is a prominent figure in the AI-semiconductor industry, known for his roles as a researcher, inventor, entrepreneur, and executive. He has worked in Hong Kong, China, and the USA. He co-founded companies such as High-Tech Technology and FinSiliconX, which focus on AI, GreenTech, and FinTech innovations. As an adjunct professor at both HKU and CityU, he teaches and supervises research in AI, GreenPower, Mixed-Signal IC Design, & Semiconductors. With over 20 years of experience in the high-tech industry, Ir Dr Ng has founded multiple companies specializing in IC design, IoT solutions, and AI for big data, supported by venture capital and multinational corporations, with funding exceeding USD 10 million. He has secured significant funding from organizations such as ASTRI, ON Semiconductor, and Motorola, contributing to the commercialization of research, including the successful listing of a client on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Ir Dr Ng holds a Ph.D. from HKU, a BEng from HKUST, and an MSc and EMBA from CityU. He is a member of MHKIE and MIEEE and holds over 20 patents. His expertise includes Analog-AI computing, RISC-V in-memory computing, and Green PMICs. He has a strong background in leading R&D teams and mentoring postgraduate students. Ms Rachel Ho Senior Marketing and Communication Manager Save the Children Hong Kong Ms Rachel Ho is a seasoned marketer and global brand curator with extensive experience in the marketing and communications profession in both private and NGO sectors in Hong Kong and beyond. Rachel obtained her MBA from City University of Hong Kong and MSSc from the University of Hong Kong. As a strategic leader and impact driver, Rachel has successfully navigated the private sector before pursuing qualifications as a family therapist, deepening her understanding of people dynamics and emotional resilience. Currently, as a vital member of Save the Children Hong Kong, Rachel is dedicated to championing children’s rights in education, survival, and protection. Her unwavering commitment to work for and with children and their families reflects a belief in the transformative power of collective actions. Rachel’s insights and passion position her as a compelling voice in the global ESG movement, inspiring others to join her in building a brighter, more equitable and sustainable future for all. Dr Wilson Yeh Executive Director Orient Century Group Dr Wilson Yeh is the Executive Director of Orient Century Group on property investments in Asia. Over his 40 years career he has worked at director level for several large developers including Global Fortune 500 companies Hutchison Whampoa Property and HK-listed companies. As a real estate developer, he has been in charge of multi-billion dollar development projects. He is a mentor to startups in PropTech and consultant to the think-tank Our Hong Kong Foundation. On the research side, Dr Yeh’s interests are on Southeast Asia property developments and smart city. He regularly gave talks on Southeast Asia property developments. He published research papers on international journals such as the Journal of Asia Business Studies, and Decision Making and Analysis. Dr Yeh has an extensive academic background. He has a DBA from CityU of Hong Kong, a LLB Degree in Law, a Master of Science in Ecommerce, a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering and an MBA. He is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. In recognition of his academic achievement, he is a holder of the Research Design Award from College of Business CityU, on the Dean’s list from the Faculty of Business Administration CUHK, and a life member of Beta Gamma Sigma.
