Phoenix TV Century Auditorium Lecture with Professor Myron Scholes

The College of Business was honoured to invite a renowned financial economist Prof Myron S. Scholes to share his views and insights on global economy after financial crisis and financial reform of Mainland China at Run Run Shaw Creative Media Centre on 11th November.

Prof Scholes is the Chairman of the Board of Economic Advisors of Stamos Capital Management and Frank E. Buck Professor of Finance, Emeritus, Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He was awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 1997 for a method to determine the value of derivatives.

The forum was recorded by the Phoenix Satellite Television Holdings Limited and it will be broadcasted in its weekly TV program Century Auditorium 世紀大講堂. The forum was open to DBA, EMBA, and MBA students in the College of Business and there were around 150 audience attended. Students from respective programs actively participated in Q&A sections and Prof Scholes was delighted to share his tips and key essence to success – “Try to make friends with smart people as you can always steal the best from them”.

It was the second forum organized by the College of Business for the new MBA course FB6706 - Executive Discovery & Network, followed by Dr Norman Leung’s sharing delivered in late October.
