Happy Chinese New Year! CityU’s Human Resources Office hosted a university-wide staff party welcoming the Year of the Horse Chinese New Year on 7th February.  Faculty and staff enjoyed a buffet feast and workshop booths with traditional Chinese handicrafts such as paper-cut silhouettes, pinwheels, and lantern riddles.

The party highlights included a series of festive programmes: a Chinese lion dance, student fusion rope-skipping and dance performance, celebrity singing show by Ms Corinna Chamberlain, a local artist originally from Australia, a Champion Magician magic show by Mr Louis Yan, winner of both the US Abbott Magic Competition and Hungary’s 6th Joker Magic International Stage Competition, and rounds of lucky draws.

At the climax of the event, Prof Way Kou, President of CityU, drew the three grand prizewinners for the lucky draw! More than 1,000 academia and staff enjoyed the afternoon blessed with University greetings for good fortune and health in the New Year.

We look forward to a prosperous Year of the Horse for the University, its staff, and students!
