Mr Pavol Pavlis, 1st State Secretary, Ministry of Economy of Slovak Republic, and his Principal Advisor, Mr Bruno Hromý, Director General of the International Trade Division, Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, visited the College of Business on 28th February during their recent stay in Hong Kong.
Dr Gang Hao, Associate Vice-President (Development) of CityU accompanied by the College’s representatives Prof Kelvin Yau, Associate Dean of the College of Business (Research and Faculty) and Prof Muammer Ozer, Director of DBA programme welcomed the delegation at Academic 3. Prof Yau gave a brief introduction to the College and its programmes, after which views were exchanged on models of business education and potential traineeships for scholars. Potential collaborations in undergraduate student exchange and postgraduate study tours were also discussed with a view to enhancing the bilateral relationship between the Slovak Republic and Hong Kong SAR.
About the Delegation
Mr Pavlis graduated from the Slovak Technical University specialising in technology and engineering, starting his career as a researcher in 1984. From 2003-2006 he was a member of the Supervisory Board of the National Property Fund of the Slovak Republic. From 2006 - 2012 he was a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. Mr Pavlis is currently one of the two state secretaries in the Ministry of Economy, responsible for international trade and trade with non-European countries.
