The College of Business is delighted to announce the establishment of the MBA Student Association, a student-led organization to connect fellow students and alumni through regular events and gatherings.

A kick-off ceremony served with a luncheon was held at the Staff Lounge of CityTop on 15th March. Around 20 students, guests and faculty attended the event. Mr Conrad Wong, Vice Chairman of Yau Lee Holdings Ltd., gave a keynote talk on “A Mingle of Entrepreneur and Sustainability: Real Experiences Sharing.” Mr Wong shared the concept of building a green environment and the benefits of green buildings focusing on environmental, economical, and social factors.

Mr. Wong highlighted that green buildings not only improve the quality of our environment but also have many obvious economic benefits, such as reducing operation costs and increasing property value. Green buildings will provide a “cleaner and fresher” environment for occupants to work or live in and the surrounding society will also benefit from low-carbon emission levels.

The ceremony was organised by the association’s first Committee, Mr Geoffrey Kwan, Ms Christine Szeto, Mr Samuel Li, and Mr Felix Chui. Geoffrey shared the mission and vision of the association during his speech to the audience: “the MBA Student Association is dedicated to giving students a once-in-a-lifetime MBA experience. The Association is currently in the process of becoming a fully-registered non-profit organization and its operations are fully supported by the programme management authorities and membership fees collected will be directly invested back into student services and activities.”

Mr Jack Marr, Assistant Director of MBA programme is the delegated faculty to advise the association. Recruitment for student members is in progress and all alumni input, support, and participation is most welcome. Please contact the Committee at icejava@gmail.com for details.
