The Department of Information Systems (IS) held its second IS Award Ceremony at Academic 2 on 28th March. The ceremony was organized by the Information Systems Alumni and Members Round Table (ISmart), a student organization in the Department of Information Systems.
Around 100 attendants including guests, academic staff, students, and their families and friends attended the event. A total of 103 awards and scholarships were given out to outstanding students from different undergraduate programmes:

Dr Weiquan Wang, Associate Head and Associate Professor of IS, Dr Ron Kwok, Assistant Dean of CB and Associate Professor of IS, also attended the ceremony and congratulated the students on their outstanding performances and dedicated endeavours.
The ceremony was first held in academic year 2012/2013 and is an annual event recognizing students of outstanding achievement locally and globally in various areas including academic, social service, competitions, and internship.

ISmart is an official student organisation supported by the Department of Information Systems responsible for organizing various student activities to advance their academic and personal development. It also provides two schemes – Student Mentoring Scheme and Alumni Mentoring Scheme which help students and alumni to build up strong networks as well as a platform to share experience on study and careers.
