CB First Year Teaching & Learning Forum for 2014/15 academic year

The College organized a one-day First Year Teaching and Learning Forum for all CB teaching staff at Academic 3 on 25th August, with the general aims of sharing experience on the BBA teaching and learning experience and provision of a caring learning environment for first year students.

Dr Andrew Chan, Director of First Year Teaching and Learning, and Associate Professor of Department of Management (MGT), welcomed all teaching staff from the six academic departments.  He was then joined by Prof Julie Li, Associate Dean of CB (Undergraduate Programmes) and Associate Professor of Department of Marketing (MKT), to present the prizes to the three winners of BBA First Year Teaching Awards 2013/14

Following the prize presentation, Ms Daisy Lee, Award winner of 2012/2013, Visiting Fellow of Department of Marketing, and course leader of one of the CB first year core courses for 2014/2015 academic year, shared her teaching plans and experience.

The College also invited Dr Tim Wong, Director of Student Development Services (SDS) of CityU, to deliver a talk on student activities, support, and services provided by SDS.  Light refreshments were served at the closing of the forum.

The forum provides a platform for teaching staff to share their teaching experience including challenges that have been encountered in order to strengthen teaching quality and effectiveness. Professors were also encouraged to discuss and propose effective teaching practices and innovative teaching methods to enhance the overall learning experience of students.

The Forum is organized twice a year at the beginnings of Semesters A and B to facilitate the exchange of ideas. The second forum will be held in January 2015.
