Xiaomi founder Mr Kong-kat Wong reveals the key to success

Invited by the CityU MBA Alumni Association, Mr KK Wong, Co-founder and Vice President of Xiaomi, presented the topic of “Xiaomi Way” at the MBA special talk on 16th April.

With his extensive background and enthusiasm in the IT industry, Mr Wong started his business and founded Xiaomi with his partner Jun Lei in 2010. Xiaomi is renowned for its signature Redmi and Mi smartphones and other high tech products such as tablets and smart home devices. It has become one of the leading technology firms in China. Mr Wong shared that the unique positioning of the company and the pricing strategies have made Xiaomi one of the most successful brands in the market. He also emphasised the importance of communicating with the users, who are valuable in providing feedback and suggestions to improve and perfect the company products.

The event gave a precious opportunity for students to learn about the key to success in starting and operating a new business. Students actively participated in the Q&A session and were impressed by the dynamic and lively speeches delivered by Mr Wong.
