CityU hosts lectures for Shanghai Jiao Tong University CEO Programme
The College’s Executive Education unit delivered a one-day lecture on Postmodern Marketing for alumni and participants of the CEO programme of the Overseas Education College of Shanghai Jiao Tong University on 11 May. The learning experience at CityU was a highlight of the participants’ 3-day study tour in Hong Kong.
In the morning section, Professor Chenting Su, Chair Professor of marketing, introduced the concept of postmodern marketing. Professor Su said, “Marketing is neither science nor technology, it is more like an art of dealing with people.” He then elaborated the theory with a number of case studies, and initiated discussion among participants. In the afternoon, Professor Su taught on STP marketing model - Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning. Through the interactive lectures and case analyses, participants gained a thorough understanding on marketing management and postmodern marketing strategies.
