In May 2024, 30 undergraduates from various majors within the College of Business attended an intensive 8-day programme called "Driving Sustainability For Innovation: Singapore's Challenge." The programme was jointly organised by the College of Business and Singapore Management University (SMU).

The programme aimed to encourage students to use their creativity and problem-solving skills to address significant sustainability issues. The students were organised into teams and tasked with a field research challenge, culminating in a final presentation. By immersing themselves in the local context, students were able to devise actionable solutions to drive positive change.

Participant Tze-yan Kan, an Economics and Finance student, said that the immersive 8-day challenge programme in Singapore exceeded her expectations. She gained valuable knowledge related to sustainability and experienced personal growth.

Pak-man Fong, a student majoring in Global Operations Management, shared, "The Singapore study tour has indelibly shaped my perspective on sustainability. I am now motivated to delve deeper into the field of sustainable urban planning and design. I aim to explore the incorporation of renewable energy sources, green infrastructure, and resilient systems into urban development projects."

At the programme's conclusion, the teams presented their findings to a panel of judges from SMU and CB Faculty, Professor Michael Wong, Associate Dean (Global Executive Programmes) and Professor Wei-thoo Yue, Professor of Management Information Systems. The top-performing teams received cash prizes in the form of book coupons, and all participants received a certificate of participation issued by SMU.
