CityU Case Competition 2024 concludes successfully

The 2024 CityU Case Competition, organised by the Business Proposal and Competition Club (BPCC), concluded at the final-round selection cum award presentation on 23 May. The event fostered the creation of innovative solutions to real-life issues by new generation business students.

This year, the Competition received a record-breaking number of proposal submissions coming from CityU, HKU & HKUST. The team consisting of Tsz-nam Ng (HKU), Hon-ting Wong (BBAMKT, CityU), Lok-ching Cheung (HKU), and Nikkia Lo (HKU), emerged as the champions from among the 59 entries. Tsz-nam Ng was also selected as the Best Presenter.

The judging panel included faculty members, Professor Huazhong Zhao, Associate Head and Associate Professor of Marketing, and Professor Jonathan Ng Tai-shing, Adjunct Professor of the College of Business. External judges were Ms Eugenia Lee, Head of Residential Sales (Hong Kong), and Ms Rossella Chu, Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition, both from Swire Properties Limited.

Ka-keung Lee, President of BPCC, commended the high quality of the proposals presented this year. Professor Jonathan Ng Tai-shing also praised the finalist teams for their professionalism and creativity, and found their in-depth market research and creative suggestions to help Swire Properties stay at the forefront of sustainable development in the real estate sector truly impressive.

Tsz-nam Ng shared his competition experience, saying, "Throughout the entire experience, we were constantly reminded of a valuable lesson: The importance of adopting the viewpoints of customers and stakeholders. This will undoubtedly shape our approach to future challenges."

Ms Rossella Chu expressed her delight in seeing the passion and creativity of the students, saying, "It was a real pleasure to see all the students who came forward with passionate and creative ideas for the case competition. Thank you, CityU Business Proposal and Competition Club, for arranging this."
