CityUHK EMBA (Chinese) programme and the EMBA (Chinese) Alumni Association jointly hosted a dinner to welcome the 2024 Fall Cohort and celebrate the programme’s 10th anniversary on 19 October. Over 250 students, faculty, and alumni gathered to celebrate this milestone.

The event welcomed distinguished guests, including Professor Michael Yang Mengsu, Senior Vice-President (Innovation and Enterprise); Professor Johnny Ho Chung-yin, Associate Vice-President (Innovation and Enterprise); Professor Kalok Chan, Dean of the College of Business; Ms Grace Liang, Director of the Alumni Relations Office; and Professor Gang Hao, Director of the EMBA (Chinese) programme. While CityUHK President, Professor Freddy Boey, was out of town, he conveyed his congratulations through a video message, expressing his support for the programme and appreciation for the alumni community.

During the event, Professor Michael Yang Mengsu and Dean Kalok Chan each delivered speeches reflecting on the EMBA (Chinese) programme’s decade-long journey. They highlighted the significant achievements made over the past ten years and shared their aspirations for the programme’s future. They expressed deep appreciation for the programme’s contributions to fostering innovation and leadership, emphasising the transformative experiences it has provided to its students and alumni.

A highlight of the evening was a special award presentation recognising faculty members and alumni who have made contributions to the EMBA (Chinese) programme over the past decade. The “Special Contribution Award” recipients included Professor Houmin Yan, Founder of the EMBA (Chinese) programme, and Professor Wenyu Dou, former Director of the programme. The “Outstanding Contribution Award” honorees were Professor Chenting Su, Chair Professor of Marketing; Professor Yanni Yan Mingping, Senior Advisor for the EMBA (Chinese) programme; Ms Koala Yip, Teaching Fellow of the School of Creative Media; as well as Mr Jiasen Pan and Mr Dan Wang, the first and current Alumni Association Presidents respectively. These awards celebrated individuals whose dedication has been instrumental in shaping the programme’s success and strengthening the alumni network, further underscoring the spirit of collaboration and commitment shared within the EMBA community.

The celebration provided a valuable opportunity for attendees to reconnect, reflect on the programme’s accomplishments, and warmly welcome the 2024 Fall cohort. The evening concluded on an optimistic note, highlighting the EMBA (Chinese) programme’s commitment to nurturing leadership, fostering innovation, and supporting CityUHK’s mission in business education. With a solid foundation and an engaged community, the programme looks forward to continued growth in the years to come.
