Seminar on the future of the global economy in 2025
The CityUHK Academy of Innovation (CAI) and Société Générale, with CityUHK’s Business Innovation Education (BIE) as the supporting organiser, recently hosted a thought-provoking seminar titled "2025 U.S. Stock Market's Impact on the Global Economy." This event brought together industry experts, academics, and media professionals to discuss the potential implications of the U.S. stock market on the global economic landscape in 2025. Over 70 students and graduates from the MBA and Master of Science in Venture Creation programmes participated in the seminar.
A key highlight of the event was a group discussion focusing on the U.S. stock market's impact on the global economy in 2025. The panel included Ms Eva Tsoi, Director of Listed Products Sales at Société Générale Securities; Professor Tina Choi, Adjunct Professor and Founding Director of BIE; Mr Kenneth Lee, Executive Director and Head of Distribution Sales at CSOP Asset Management; and Mr Rex Chan, Host at Hong Kong Strategists Media. Ms YoYo Tsang moderated the seminar, also a host at Hong Kong Strategists Media. The panelists engaged in a lively exchange of ideas, addressing audience questions and sharing their perspectives on how businesses and investors can prepare for anticipated shifts in the global economic landscape.

Sun Mengya Allison, an MBA alum, praised CityUHK for its global perspective and strong industry connections, highlighting the seminar as an exemplary bridge between academia and real-world practice. Huiyu Wang, a student in the Master of Science in Venture Creation programme, noted that the seminar helped her understand that financial instruments are mathematical reconstructions of business models and emphasised that cognitive depth, rather than speed, is the ultimate advantage in the information age.
