Programme Aims and Objectives

The MSc in Artificial Intelligence in Business (AIB) is designed to prepare the next generation of business leaders who understand and use AI effectively. Our graduates will develop the skills needed to navigate the challenges of the business world by 1) using AI to improve business efficiency, 2) managing AI projects for business success, and 3) creating AI solutions that benefit both society and industry.

This programme is aimed at those with a background in IT/IS or business, helping them build a well-rounded AI + business mindset. Graduates will be ready for both technical and management roles, driving digital transformation in various industries.

The MScAIB teaches students the latest AI technologies and important soft skills for working well with AI, enabling them to lead digital transformation efforts. By combining advanced AI tools with core business concepts, our graduates will play a key role in shaping the business environment in Hong Kong and beyond.
 

Entrance Requirements

To be eligible for admission, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Hold a recognized Bachelor's degree from a tertiary education institution in Hong Kong funded by the University Grants Committee (UGC), or an equivalent degree. Applicants should have intermediate-level knowledge in IT/IS or business, demonstrated by completing relevant undergraduate courses or having related work experience.

Additionally, applicants whose qualifications are from institutions where the medium of instruction is not English must meet the following minimum English proficiency requirements:

  • A score of 79 (Internet-based test) in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)@ #; or
  • An overall band score of 6.5 in International English Language Testing System (IELTS)@; or
  • A score of 450 in the new College English Test (CET6) of Chinese mainland; or
  • Other equivalent qualifications.

@ TOEFL and IELTS scores are considered valid for two years. Applicants are required to provide their English test results obtained within the two years preceding the commencement of the University's application period. 
# Applicants are required to arrange with the Educational Testing Service (ETS) to send their TOEFL results directly to the University. The TOEFL institution code for CityUHK is 3401.
